‘Kimmon – Warodome Khemmonta’ and ‘Copter – Panuwat Kerdtongtawee’, also known to the fans as ‘KimCop’. Their roles in the entertainment industry, as boy band artists in SBFIVE with fans all over Asia, and as experienced actors in various roles in different series. Let’s hear their views about each other’s changes throughout the years.
How does this look relate to your real identity?
Kimmon: It’s very different, I would never dress like this in my everyday life (laughs)
Copter: This is actually my normal look (Kimmon: seriously!), this is what I look like when I wake up. Suppose that when I go to sleep, I’m a full tiger, but when I go outside, my top becomes a lion, a giraffe.
Comparing to the previous concept, ‘Sunday Morning’, how is it this time around?
Kimmon: Bas joined us last time, the 3 of us in a lively, vivid style. This time is a bit of dark one, it’s kinda cool.
Copter: This time is a cool, handsome look. We tried a sweet look last time already, right? (Kimmon: Right) Sweet and lively.
Kimmon: It’s the first time I’m modeling without smiling.
Kimmon and Copter, do you have your own gang?
Kimmon: If it’s the SBFIVE gang, we’re definitely in the same gang, but if we go way back to my high school days, I have a huge gang of friends. High school gang, but they don’t wear boa shirts like this though (laughs).
Copter: Yes, I do. I used to have a philanthropist-9 temples gang (Kimmon: that’s nice), we’d go around making merits.
Kimmon: I also have this gang, Mit gang (Copter: Mitrapap (Thai word for “friendship”))… Mitchacheep (Thai word for “criminal”).
What do you like to do with your gang?
Kimmon: For me, it’s mostly masculine stuff, like football, sports.
Copter: Mine is movies, music, chatting about movies and music and technology.
Kimmon: Gossip gang.
Since you’ve known each other for many years, what do you think the other person’s coolest thing is?
Kimmon: His talent. I like Copter’s talents. He makes a great example for me, because he does everything well. The only thing I’m confident that I’m better is modelling, catwalk. Besides that, whether it is singing, dancing, acting, he’s better than me (Copter: you’re being humble). No, I’m lying to make you look good… just kidding (laughs). I admire him, when he’s determined, he looks really cool.
Copter: As for Kim, his humor is his coolness (Kimmon: being funny is cool?). How many people are naturally funny, you know what I mean? (Kimmon: I’m not funny, I’m just a person with good moods). Fine, good moods.
Kimmon: He’s way funnier than I am.
Copter: That’s not true… Your thing is being hilarious (Kimmon: I’m a positive guy). You mean being positively kind? (Kimmon: No, positively violent… funny) See? He has a comedic sense, always in a good mood. Not everyone has this kind of sense. Sometimes, I try to make a joke, I was confident that it’s be funny but it wasn’t, and you’d make it funny.
What is ‘KimCop’s’ charm that has pleased fans all along?
Kimmon: Our friendly intimacy, artists that are down to earth, like friends, brothers, sons, fathers. Some people even call me father (Copter: Like uncle). No, no, no one uses the word uncle anymore.
Copter: Everyone does.
Kimmon: I think it’s because of this. It’s SBFIVE’s charm, artists that are down to earth.
Copter: We always talk to each other how we try to ignore our reputation. We don’t think that we are celebrities or famous actors. We think that we’re here as a duty to our jobs, it is our dream come true, so we’d do our best. The responses, reputation are all by-products of everything. We don’t focus on that too much, but we focus on the happiness in our jobs and the happiness we get from our fans. It’s their response from our work. I think this is probably one of our charms.
The other person’s changes in these past few years.
Kimmon: Since I’ve known Copter, he hasn’t changed much, quite the same, not much difference. He might’ve grown up with his age, as a younger kid, he’s one type of style, when he grew up, he’s a bit calmer. He was a bit fiery in the beginning (Copter: Cuz I was so hot, now I’m cool). He’s much calmer now, like he’s grown up.
Copter: He hasn’t changed as well (Kimmon: I’m still the same, no change), since I’ve known him till now, he’s still the same. He still likes to… the same.
Kimmon: Everyone else’s age moves forward, but my age is like Moonwalk. How old will you be next year?
Copter: I’ll be 25 next year.
Kimmon: I’ll go backwards every year. We’ll be the same age in a couple of years. (Copter: You’re 27 right now). Yep, so we’ll be the same age in 2 years.
Your new projects coming soon.
Copter: There’s many new projects this year. Starting from ‘Close Friend, Close Lover’, which is a project by Viu and the miniseries soundtrack by BOXX MUSIC, where BOXX MUSIC has 6 artists in 6 different episodes of short series. We are also a part of that project, we already finished shooting that, everyone should’ve seen it already.
Kimmon: And then there is the series, ‘That’s My Candy’, where Copter and I play as ourselves. This is another one coming this year, it’s sort of a sweet, fantasy style.
Copter: Please follow, before we go, ‘Gen Y The Series’ will have a fan meeting in May (*update – the event has been postponed due to the current COVID-19 situation*) ‘Y Live Y Love’ is also the first ‘Gen Y The Series’ fan meeting that will be online. We want everyone to join the warm atmosphere together. Another one from both of us is the ‘Million Boys Concert’, which has already released the cartoon characters in the 10 EP’s, and stay tuned to watch the final episode to see what will happen in the concert
Kimmon: It will definitely be fun, you’ll see some new looks
Copter: And last but not least, this year, there will be ‘Gen Y The Series season 2’.
