TharnType The Series Season 2 has aired 2 episodes so far! How much did you gush over the first season? Well, get ready for more in the second season because the love and looks they’re serving is out of this world!
7 Years of Love
Tharn (Mew Suppasit Jongcheveevat) is so in love with Type (Gult Kanawut Traipipattanapong), so much that he wants to get married! The series starts with Type’s voice, narrating their love story in a dreamlike setting, showing how much in love they are with each other. I must say that the script is quite continuous as lovers and no detail is left out, this can be seen in their cute playfulness as a couple that we all love.
We witness how they develop in this season, facing challenges in the adult world and changes that a lot of us encounter outside the university’s safe zone. Other than irritating bosses and cute guys like Fierce (Chalongrat Nobsamrong) who is trying his best to win over Type’s heart, even though he already has Leo (Patchara Suansri), his bestfriend who is in love with him.
Tharn and Type will have to face another obstacle in their relationship once again, when Tharn decides to ask Type to marry him. However, Type is an over-thinker, while Tharn only cares about how much he loves Type and just wants the world to know. Along with his accomplices to propose to Type, led by Techno (Suttinut Uengtrakul), his best friend from last season, Dr.Khunpol (Put Prayoonwiwat) who was Champ’s (Napat Srinakluan) ex-roommate, Service (Sarunyasathorn Thanawashwat) Tharn’s cousin and his boyfriend Poogun (Thanatorn Senangkanikorn).
What more can we ask for?
As a true Boy Love fan, the series really captures what I love in a BL series, giving us all the sweetness overload! From everyday routines like showering, cooking in the kitchen, looking after each other after work, or always wanting to be with the other person, is something very enjoyable and detail-oriented.
Mew – Gulf can both express the love of both characters from last season, from a university love story that developed into an adult relationship and has made viewers understand them better. What I really like about this series is the mood and tone that is in line with last season’s standards, a dominant boy love series that focuses on orange lighting and tone.
The camera angles are great but some scenes in the series are still a bit too similar to other series, but that’s no biggie because in all honesty, all I can focus on is Mew-Gulf because I envy the love they have for each other. There are also other couples in this boy love series but not all of them feel as natural as the main couple. Some scenes are still a bit unnatural but when we focus on the actors, we kind of forget about that.
But what really bums me out is the over-the-top make, a bit too much of glossy lips and a full face, so much that I am eager to use a bit of makeup remover on their faces. Even Techno, has very glossy lips, however the series is still breath taking and well-deserved praise from the 2 episodes I’ve seen!
